Maine Planning & Land Use Laws is a compilation of the laws affecting planning and development activities at the local, regional, and State level in both the organized and unorganized townships. Forestry practices, subdivisions, traffic movement permits, natural resource management, shoreland zoning, and many others are detailed in this compact volume.
This book is widely used by Code Enforcement Officers, Planning Boards, Boards of Appeals, attorneys, real estate brokers and agents, conservationists, surveyors, and, of course, citizens wanting to keeping abreast of current land use laws.
Maine Planning & Land Use Laws is published biennially on the even numbered years. Beginning in 2008, this site will provide information on errors and omissions, new laws or changes enacted by the Legislature in the non-publishing years, and links to the Rules used to administer these laws. Links will also be provided to other land use laws, which, although important, affect very small, unique users, such as quarry operations.
